TallyGenicom Update

Released 25/06/2009 Manufacturer of matrix and thermal printers, DASCOM, announced last week that it had acquired the key assets of TallyGenicom AG and TallyGenicom Computerdrucker GmbH, and this week sees the formation of DASCOM GB, based in Basingstoke, Hampshire.

New UK company takes on Tallygenicom products

As a subsidiary of DASCOM Europe, the UK office will market the full range of the former TallyGenicom brand of serial, passbook and mobile printers under the ‘Tally’ or ‘Tally Dascom’ brand names, as well as the former TG 7000 series range of thermal printers. The former TallyGenicom line matrix and laser printer models will continue to be distributed by DASCOM GB through its sales operations. DASCOM GB has also recruited a team of people mostly from the former TallyGenicom in the UK. Supporting a comprehensive range of serial matrix and thermal printers, including a range of options, consumables and spares for the UK, Ireland, Scandinavia, Benelux, Middle East and Africa regions, the team is headed up by Robin Edwardes, previously executive VP, EMEA at TallyGenicom and now the MD of the new DASCOM GB.
Edwardes commented: "I am delighted to be part of this new organisation, whose commitment and forward thinking approach to the market will ensure a successful relationship with its customers. The fact that we have acquired the rights to such a reputable brand as the Tally serial printer range, and have been able to bring on board such an experienced and able team of people to support this brand, means that DASCOM GB will start from a position of strength. The company’s goal to become a global supplier of business printing solutions will be realised sooner rather than later."
Christoph Geiger, newly appointed MD of DASCOM Europe GmbH, added: "The UK company’s ability to support and customise printer products in key vertical markets such as logistics & supply chain, retail, manufacturing, government and finance will underpin the success of DASCOM Europe."
